I can hear the birds singing and the leaves crackling as lizards scatter off, while I wander along dirt paths in the sanctuary.
I was rewarded with plentiful views; however, this heron was bliss. This great one landed on the top of a pine tree. We watched each other for a while...

  1. nice looking cute lil fauna:)

  2. Gorgeous photo. You have great talent.

  3. Thanks for following my blog, Slinky! Very nice to meet you - and now you have a new fan - me :)

    Keep on coming your photos!

  4. Hello Slinky! I love your name. Sass-i-ness!
This is a fabulous shot of the heron. I used to live in Ojai, CA. Ever been there? I'm in OH now, and we have heron's around the lake I live on. Prehistoric looking (and sounding) birds. Your heron (well he is "yours" now that he spent time lookin' at you..) has more colors. The pink is beautiful.

Welcome to the tree house, Slinky. I, too, am joining Susanne49 as a fan! ;-)

  5. It is nice to meet all of you. Thank you for the pleasing comments. Susanne - love your work. Lillie - never been to Ojai or Ohio.

  6. The colors are beautiful. Our herons tend to be more gray, it seems. Still, they are incredible-looking birds.

  7. tapirgal - I think that maybe there might have been more color in the front that the pine needles were covering. Have a great rest of the day!
