In the age of emails, texting, and Facebook...a handwritten note after meeting with your paramour's parents, after crashing at your friends house, and especially after a someone did you a huge favor, a phone call or email is passable, however, a sent note card is really the best. Let them know you're thinking of them!One of my writing in the sand photography note cards.
I don't think you can beat a hand written 'thank you', and when it's personalised like that, even better.
