Botanical Treasure

Plumeria, certainly a symbol of aloha.
The scent will make the Aunties cry.
Worn to indicate relationship status.
An expression of hertiage.
A botanical treasure!

Foraging Brown Gull

A brown seagull foraging around the pier.
He watches closely.
Hopeful for any.
Co-existing successfully with us humans.
A scavenger today.

Dream

I sit on the pier and imagine and ponder about my dream camera. The images that I scroll through seem beautiful, however, I dream of more. I dream of what I could do. As others pass me with their dream cameras, I sit with envy. The people pass me and have no idea. I dream of having something bigger and better. I say to myself, someday. I dream.

Lots of Sand

In this photograph, there is a lot of sand and a little bit of seaweed. The ocean current rolls in and out, as the pattern of the sand changes each time. Never the same.

Friday Night

I sit with with my friends on a Friday night with ease. Each of us with a glass of white. The sun has already set. We hear bats from afar. Each listening closely to each others stories. We sit and try to solve. The lit candle gives this amber glass a softness so we may relax. This is a perfect Friday night. Cheers!

Black and Orange Beak

It was evening time as this bird was very serious about catching his dinner. He stares into the wetland waters, as he stands on the faded wood bridge. He waits and waits for the right time.

Patchwork

There is a place where this sidewalk looks like patchwork. Most often with the crowds, you cannot even see the variations of colors within this concrete blanket. White, rust and beige are predominate. The cracks are straight and narrow. This patchwork sidewalk is real.

Thorny Tree

This is one of two huge thorny trees at UCI Arboretum. I do not know the name yet, however, it is gorgeous and strong with grayish-white thorns. The green foliage is a great contrast to the soft colors of the tree.

Jury Walls

I stare at these grey patterned walls, as I sit and sit and wait for them to call my name. My badge hangs from my black and white blouse with just a number on it. As I listen and watch their videos...they say that Fairness, Integrity, Responsiveness and Responsibility is our civic duty. And by working together to achieve justice for all. These walls have seen many, day in and day out. These are Jury Walls.

This green palm macro has strong lines and bold bright colors for you to look at. It almost looks like another planet with deep tunnels.

Plumeria Celandine

The Plumeria plant is one of my favorite flowers that I'd like to share with you. The fragrance of the frangipani is paramount to me. This celandine is from my backyard.

Dream

For a while, I sit and observe from behind watching experienced surfers go in to the ocean on this overcast day. They like having the waves all to themselves.
This young buy sits there wishing he wasn't a wanna-be boogie-boarder grom, nevertheless he is. He doesn't ponder over things too much as he just wants to have fun. He dreams big.
So, I am not sure if I'd rather be the experienced surfer OR that young boy who dreams big?

Leader of the Pack

Leader of the Pack & Fireworks Burst
This is from last year and I call the first photograph "Leader of the Pack", as it looks like a bunch of Ostriches running strong. One leader and the rest following!! The second photograph is a exciting burst of a firework display. Happy Birthday America and Happy 4th to everyone! Tonight, I anticipate to find another animal in the sky!

Stretch

Trachemys scripta elegans

This is a juvenile Red-eared Slider turtle was sun bathing on a rock at the Fullerton Arboretum, Ca. The turtle and I were watching each other for a while. And as you can tell, he (or she) got comfortable with me being around, as he layed there stretching too.

Green Veins

This photograph was taken underneath a Taro (Colocasia esculenta) aka Elephant Ear, as all of the veins are showing through the sunlit green leaves. The green is so vibrant and bold. Enjoy!
